IT'S NOT WHAT YOU HAVE DONE IT'S WHAT YOU CAN BECOME
Street Cones is a team of creative artists with lived experience of the criminal justice system, who present life-changing theatre and film making that makes a real and positive difference to our young people and society. We facilitate creative team skills-based group work and mentoring of young people that offers structure and stability, creating new possibilities for young people to play a useful part in their community, society and prepare them for a positive, fulfilled adult life with hope and aspiration.
Street Cones believe that event performing, discussion theatre and film making are powerful plus effective tools for engaging and inviting individuals to examine their own behaviour, enhancing literacy skills, acting as a catalyst for change and enhancing personal development. Our lived experiences and stories need to be told through performing arts, on screen, in the street, in communities, schools and young people residential education and care centres. Street Cones wants to produce a wide range of productions, events, create material both near to the true experiences and far from the world of non-experienced members of society, the work will be set in prison life and life on the street. We refuse to sensor true lived experiences believing that everyone should have access to real lived raw performances.
